![]() To those players, I mean this with love: Go step on a Lego. It was fun trying to counter every character's mechanics, and defeat other players and their unique play-styles.Įxcept for Shiori Fujisaki players. Some characters were a bit stronger than others, and some characters I barely even saw. The music was also great, and I felt as though the game mechanics were well organized. The ranking system was balanced, and prevented you from dropping to a lower tier if you went on a 20-game loss streak (you can't drop from Gold to Silver). I'm pretty sure there were also a couple of cases where players were able to just stand still and survive after numerous explosions.ĭespite my negative attitude towards the game, there are a few things that the game did right. However, there were times where the game would just kick you for no reason, fail to load you in, and there were even cases of players that survived bombs due to the netcode not even registering that they got hit. It's delay-based netcode, which considering that the game would be trying to manage a possible 64 players at once, it was understandable. The Premium Pass also allowed you to unlock the 14 characters that came with the first release of the game, and didn't include the 6 other characters that were released afterwards. Joining a lobby was free, but if you wanted to create a lobby, you had to hand over $10, which didn't make sense when there was a lobby ID system already in place. The game also had a ton of micro-transactions, such as buying the Premium Pass to unlock the ability to create custom lobbies. The bots could only walk in a straight line, place one bomb at a time, and never used power-ups. The bots usually filled to around 90% of the lobby, and were very limited into what they could do. Orion Town kinda fixed this, but Orion Town also had gimmicks that felt unfair and punishing, such as sliding on Ice and falling into a pit if you accidentally pressed a wrong button. The standard Battle 64 map always ended in Zone 7, and there was no chance of the game ending in any other Zone. The online was almost always filled with bots, and whenever I did find a player, it was nice going against a challenge. For starters, the game was very limited in what could be played publicly, with the only options over the game's run being the Battle 64 Mode and Standard in Season 3. Super Bomberman R Online was a game that for the most part I enjoyed, but the game had some glaring issues. ![]() Considering that as of this review, Super Bomberman R 2 got announced, now seems like a fitting time to give a review.

Although I'm continuing to pursue my place in the market, my personal view is that I refuse to give my talents and time away for something less than a living - a business cannot survive without a profit and my creative spirit cannot thrive if I undervalue it. It was frustrating, but I decided that I had just not found my niche. I found it tricky to balance out what the marketplace was willing to pay with what I needed to make it profitable to do. I have personal experience sewing for production for a small business (which translated into getting paid 75cents for my labor for an item that retailed for $13) and I have had the experience of selling my own "one of a kind" items using the FORMULA(as I want a living from my work - not a monetary "pat on the head"). Pricing handcrafted works is a hot topic and I was interested in hearing the comments from others. I enjoyed reading your post and the subsequent discussions it has sparked. See my comment above for more thoughts on that topic :) Anyone who knows us personally knows that we put a lot of importance on being inclusive and supportive in this industry, and this post is simply trying to help people. It upsets me to think that anyone would take this advice in such a way. There are many factors to consider.Īs for making people feel like they're an 'outcast' if they don't price our way, that was not my intention at all. Perhaps they don't draw a livable wage themselves. Our income is liveable and modest - some months are a struggle!Īs for those similar-but-cheaper textiles, who's to say the designers/owners aren't making compromises themselves somewhere along the line? Perhaps their basecloths aren't organic. Do you think we're profiting *too* much from this business? I can assure you that's not the case. I find it interesting that at the same time as saying you appreciate we need to make a living, you go on to say that you've seen textiles like ours but cheaper. In response to "I&S fan but not fan of The Forumla" 's comment: But the point remains that as long as there is a market for it, people will continue making crappy, cheap products. In regards to people making items for pennies a day: We may not like it. ![]() Can you blame them if they can reasonably afford to offer an item at a significantly lower amount? Absolutely not. He/She is able to produce the same item cheaper than someone who pays a mortgage or lease or lives in an area where utilities are sky-high. As far as considering the other poor souls in the handmade industry: Say that one business owner owns his building and lives in an area where utilities and supplies are cheap. If I included ALL my time in some of my pieces, my silver jewelry would be priced so high that not a soul would even consider buying them. Nobody would pay that much for a simple stacking ring. If I use this formula, ONE of my 14 gauge stacking rings would have to sell for $28. For some vendors it may work however I doubt it would be viable for metalsmithing. What do you reckon? Sounds pretty full on, huh? All those x2's! Well let me tell you, those x2's are there for a reason and without them we wouldn't be here writing this post to you today. The Formula (guided by this book) and made pretty by me If it wasn't for the wonderful book Craft Inc., we might never have known about The Formula (as we have dubbed it), and by now we would have worked ourselves into the ground.īut fortunately we did know about The Formula (said with a reverent tone) and would like to share it with you today: Since the very beginning, we've always tried to price our textiles correctly. And because people as whole have a mindset that cheaper is better and haven't been educated about the 'real cost' of their purchase. And the fact that in your own community there are people who will operate at a loss on a hobby basis because they don't depend on the income from the business. Like the fact that 99% of the products in your marketplace are manufactured overseas with poor ethical & enviromental standards and sold at a price that you'll never be able to match. there are so many things working against you when you're a small, local business trying to sell your wares. The thing is, pricing yourself correctly is HARD. Or we might be discussing a new venture for our own business (such as Inklet), trying to figure out if a product is actually viable to produce and sell at a reasonable price. Collectively, these data indicate that M1/M2 macrophage polarization phenotypes are highly plastic to external signals, and interventions which therapeutically repolarize macrophages could be beneficial for treatment of cryptococcosis.Ī recent study demonstrated that the lung immune polarization environment changes over time in a model of chronic C. neoformans reflected the most recent polarizing condition, independent of previous polarization. Furthermore, the ability of sequentially stimulated macrophages to inhibit C. Switching IFN-γ- to IL-4-stimulating conditions, and vice versa, resulted in uniform changes in profiles of polarization marker genes consistent with the most recent cytokine environment. IFN-γ and IL-4 stimulation differentially induced complete M1 and M2 polarization, defined by differential expression of marker mRNA panels, surface marker expression, and tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) protein production. To further evaluate macrophage polarization plasticity, cytokine stimulatory conditions were established which fully polarized macrophages. neoformans and then with gamma interferon (IFN-γ) or IL-4 expressed mRNA polarization patterns similar to those stimulated with cytokines alone. neoformans-induced M1-like polarization state was plastic, as macrophages stimulated first with C. Coculture of macrophages with Cryptococcus neoformans resulted in development of a weak M1-like phenotype, with modestly increased inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) but lacking interleukin 6 (IL-6) induction. To explore the ability of macrophages to change between polarization states, we conducted a series of experiments using in vitro macrophages. This could have been caused by repolarization of individual macrophages or by a replacement of M2-polarized cells by new M1-polarized cells. Overall, pulmonary macrophage polarization status changes over time during a cryptococcal infection. The outcome of cryptococcal pneumonia correlates with local macrophage polarization status, as M1 and M2 polarization marks protective and nonprotective responses, respectively. ![]() Now, for the first point, in this case, it really doesn't matter where I pick since these objects just need to move relative to where they are right now, so I'll just go ahead and type in zero here, rather than having to even mess with the viewport. So let's bring up move again, so transform move, and I'll go through the same steps, I'll select my objects, and this time I'll grab all three of these, so I'll just do a window selection to grab these objects here. Okay, lets try another move, and, this time, I'd like to move these shapes exactly 10.25 units in this direction, so kind of diagonal in the Y and Z directions at the same time. And there you go! My cone and sphere are perfectly aligned. And I'll just click once more, to set that point. And you can see I'm snapping right to the top of that sphere. Let's go over there on that, zoom in a little bit. So I'll click to set that point, and then for the point to move to, I'll pick the end point that's right at the top of the sphere. ![]() So I'll pick my object to move, which is the cone, and hit Done, and then I'll pick the point to move from, and while this could be any point, in this case, since I'd like the cone to be right on the tip top of that sphere, I'll pick the center point of the cone's base for the point to move from, and, since I have object snaps on, I should be able to snap right to it, and I can see I'm snapping right to center of the base of that cone. Before we start, I'll go ahead and activate my end and center object snaps, and then let's bring up the move command, so transform move. Now, if I were doing that with click and drag, it would be really hard, so if I was trying to sort of line this up, I'd have to go through multiple viewports, and even then, it might not line up as precisely as I'd like it to, so I'll hit command z to go back, and let's try that again with the move command. So, for example, let's say that I'd like to place my cone right on the very tip top of my sphere. And move is great, since we can use it in combination with object snaps, or by typing precise numbers into the command prompts. So, sometimes when we're modeling in Rhino, we need to make more precise movements, and for that was can use the move command, which we can find under the transform menu. I'm just going to hit command z a couple times to get these objects back lined up to how I had them originally. So I could do that from the front, and also from the right. And basically, elevator mode lets us move in the direction that's perpendicular to the construction plane of whatever view we're in. So notice now, instead of moving along the top construction plane, I'm moving actually up and down, that's kind of why it's called elevator mode. So, I'm holding down command and just clicking and dragging. Now, I can modify the direction by using what's called elevator mode, and to do that, we just hold the command key and then click and drag, so let's try that in perspective. So with click and drag, we're moving in at most two directions at once. And then in the right viewport, I'm moving in the YZ or right construction plane. Similarly, when I move in the front viewport, I'm moving in the XZ or front construction plane. So, notice when I click and drag in perspective, I'm moving along the XY or top construction plane, and this is the same construction plane that's in the top viewport, so that move should look the same in top and perspective. Now, depending on which one we're in, our movements will be constrained to one of the default construction planes. And we can do this from any of the viewports. ![]() ![]() So I can click and drag on any object to move it, or I could shift select to grab multiple objects and move those all at the same time. And a lot of times, that's just fine to move something just so it looks good visually. Now, the simplest way to move an object in Rhino is to click and drag, and this is also the least precise way to move something. So, let's get moving with transform-move.3dm from the exercise files, and here I've just got a few simple shapes for us to practice with. We can simply click and drag in the viewport, we could use the move command, or we could use the gumball tool, and they all accomplish pretty much the same thing, each just in a slightly different way. Now, we've got a few different options for how we can move things. That is the ability to move objects around in Rhino's 3d space. Let's talk about a fundamental modeling skill you'll need for just about any job in Rhino 5 for Mac. This Coptic word derives from Demotic kmỉ, itself from ancient Egyptian kmt. According to the Egyptologist Wallis Budge, the Arabic word al-kīmiyaʾ actually means "the Egyptian ", borrowing from the Coptic word for "Egypt", kēme (or its equivalent in the Mediaeval Bohairic dialect of Coptic, khēme). Others trace its roots to the Egyptian name kēme (hieroglyphic □□□□ khmi ), meaning 'black earth', which refers to the fertile and auriferous soil of the Nile valley, as opposed to red desert sand. Hermanm Diels argued in 1914 that it rather derived from χύμα, used to describe metallic objects formed by casting. The first was proposed by Zosimos of Panopolis (3rd–4th centuries), who derived it from the name of a book, the Khemeu. Several etymologies have been proposed for the Greek term. Together this association can be interpreted as 'the process of transmutation by which to fuse or reunite with the divine or original form'. This name was itself brought from the Arabic word al-kīmiyā ( الكيمياء or الخيمياء) composed of two parts: the Late Greek term khēmeía (χημεία), also spelled khumeia (χυμεία) and khēmía (χημία) - see below, and the Arabic definite article al- ( الـ), meaning 'The'. The word alchemy comes from old French alquemie, alkimie, used in Medieval Latin as alchymia. The subject has also made an ongoing impact on literature and the arts. The latter interests historians of esotericism, psychologists, and some philosophers and spiritualists. The former is pursued by historians of the physical sciences, who examine the subject in terms of early chemistry, medicine, and charlatanism, and the philosophical and religious contexts in which these events occurred. ![]() Holmyard and Marie-Louise von Franz that they should be understood as complementary. ![]() Modern discussions of alchemy are generally split into an examination of its exoteric practical applications and its esoteric spiritual aspects, despite criticisms by scholars such as Eric J. This late medieval tradition of alchemy would go on to play a significant role in the development of early modern science (particularly chemistry and medicine). In Europe, the 12th-century translations of medieval Islamic works on science and the rediscovery of Aristotelian philosophy gave birth to a flourishing tradition of Latin alchemy. They did not abandon the Ancient Greek philosophical idea that everything is composed of four elements, and they tended to guard their work in secrecy, often making use of cyphers and cryptic symbolism. Islamic and European alchemists developed a basic set of laboratory techniques, theories, and terms, some of which are still in use today. The concept of creating the philosophers' stone was variously connected with all of these projects. The perfection of the human body and soul was thought to result from the alchemical magnum opus ("Great Work"). Common aims were chrysopoeia, the transmutation of " base metals" (e.g., lead) into " noble metals" (particularly gold) the creation of an elixir of immortality and the creation of panaceas able to cure any disease. Īlchemists attempted to purify, mature, and perfect certain materials. ![]() In its Western form, alchemy is first attested in a number of pseudepigraphical texts written in Greco-Roman Egypt during the first few centuries AD.
